From the Alps to the Adriatic Sea
Experience a wonderful hiking tour that takes you from the Alps to the Adriatic Sea in Trieste. Your eight-day hiking tour begins in Tarvis with a circular hike to the pilgrimage site on Monte Lussari. The tour c ontinues through picturesque Venzone, over Monte Cumieli to Gemona and to Udine. The route leads through the vineyards of the Collio to Gradisca d'Isonzo and the next day to Trieste. On the last day, a tour in the direction of Slovenia with breathtaking views of Trieste provides the conclusion to a successful break in Italy.
Alpe-Adria-Trail: From Cividale to Trieste
The first two routes on the long-distance hiking trail lead you first to Prepotto and the next day to Šmartno in Brda in Slovenia. The next day the route leads you back to the Friulian Collio area and to Cormons. The hiking tour continues and on the following two days you march first to Gradisca d’Isonzo and finally to Duino/Sistiana. On the last stage you hike on the picturesque Rilke trail in the footsteps of the famous poet Rainer Maria Rilke and end your hiking tour with a good Italian meal in the port city of Trieste.
Alpe-Adria Border Triangle Tour
On this hiking tour you can explore the three countries Austria, Italy and Slovenia in just eight days. Starting from Villach, you first hike to Feistritz an der Gail in Austria, then on to Camporosso and Monte Lussari in Italy and on the fifth day of your active trip to Kranjska Gora in Slovenia. After a day of rest, you conclude your hiking holiday with the last day’s stage from Kranjska Gora to Villach.
Istria
The first hiking stage takes you from Trieste through the Rosandratal valley to Pesek in Slovenia and on the following day to Muggia, a small Italian community right by the sea. On the fourth day you leave Italy and hike over the border to Koper in Croatia. On the next hiking stages you will explore Piran on the Adria coast, Motovun in the interior of the country and finally your final stage destination Poreč on the east coast of the Croatian peninsula Istria.

Climate in the Friuli region
